Explanation

Two wolves are planning to eat a bird (or... bird-like creature?). While one would expect the wolves to eat the bird right away, one of the wolves has a different idea - to "invest in its eggs as a renewable resource".

The humor comes from the idea that a wild animal like a wolf would have the forethought to pursue egg farming (hence the title).
